Numerical algorithms for parallel computers
Proceedings of the May 19-22, 1980, national computer conference on - AFIPS '80, 1980Numerical methods are generally judged on their ability to produce a reasonably accurate answer in a reasonable amount of time. This paper deals with the latter criterion in the context of non-standard architectures---namely vector and array processors.

Non-numerical methods on parallel computers
Computer Physics Communications, 1982Abstract Analysis of computation on parallel computers reveals an interleaving of local (often numeric) processing and data re-organisation. The local processing is readily handled since it is contained within individual processors and easily expressed in terms of element-by-element operations on whole arrays.

Numerical multiple integration on parallel computers
Computer Physics Communications, 1982Abstract This paper discusses the implementation of methods for the approximate calculation of multiple integrals on a SIMD parallel computer. Adaptive methods using polynomial integrating basic rules and Monte Carlo and number theoretic basic rules are considered with particular reference to implementation on the ICL DAP computer.

Numerically-intensive "plug-and-play" parallel computing
Proceedings 2001 IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing, 2001At UCLA's Plasma Physics Group, we have been successful in building and using a numerically-intensive parallel computing cluster using Power Macintosh hardware and the Macintosh Operating System. Our solution makes the problem of building and operating a parallel computer far easier than using other technologies, allowing the user, without expertise in

Prototyping Framework for Parallel Numerical Computations
2014Our research is focused on the simplification of parallel programming for distributed memory systems. Our goal is to build a unifying framework for creating, debugging, profiling, and verifying parallel applications. The result of this effort is an open source tool Kaira. In this paper, we focus on prototyping of parallel applications. We have extended

Numerical parallel computation of geometrical ray-tracing
Proceedings of the 8th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Post-graduates and Young Scientists. Modern Technique and Technologies. MTT'2002 (Cat. No.02EX550), 2004We introduce the numerical parallel computation of geometrical ray-tracing. By analyzing the model of ray-tracing and using some parallel techniques, such as strategy of "divide and conquer" to design a geometrical ray-tracing parallel program with MPI mode. The numerical simulation computation results of parallel program on PC-cluster platform and HPC

Parallel computing of Numerical Manifold Method with OpenMP
2009 IEEE Youth Conference on Information, Computing and Telecommunication, 2009This paper introduced a parallel implementation of Numerical Manifold Method based on multiprocessor platforms. First, the computing performance for a class of rock engineering problems was analyzed. For solving simultaneous equations is the most time consuming, we choose parallelized Jacobi's iterative method to speed up the computing process.

Beyond massive parallelism: numerical computation using associative tables
Parallel Computing, 1990Abstract Novel computing devices are exploited for numerical computation. The solution of a numerical problem is sought, which has been solved many times before, but this time with a different set of input data. A table is a classical way to collect the old solutions in order to exploit them to find the new one.

Parallel computations based on modified numerical integration methods
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012Even though the idea of parallel computing and parallel connection of high amount of microprocessors is attractive, it is not easy to reach big increase in performance compared to single processor approach. The potential of parallel data processing has already been studied. It was found, that even a small percentage of sequential steps may lead to high
