Traditional Structures in Contemporary Chinese Poetry

open access: yesСлово.ру: балтийский акцент, 2017
This paper analyses structures typical of the classical Chinese poetry and the way they are used in contemporary Chinese verse. The analysis aims to demonstrate the work of traditional textual mechanisms in contemporary Chinese poetry and to describe ...

Intercontinental genomic parallelism in multiple three-spined stickleback adaptive radiations

open access: yesNature Ecology & Evolution, 2020
Parallelism, the evolution of similar traits in populations diversifying in similar conditions, provides strong evidence of adaptation by natural selection.

Memory-Efficient Deep Learning on a SpiNNaker 2 Prototype

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2018
The memory requirement of deep learning algorithms is considered incompatible with the memory restriction of energy-efficient hardware. A low memory footprint can be achieved by pruning obsolete connections or reducing the precision of connection ...

Rotational spreads and rotational parallelisms and oriented parallelisms of PG(3,R) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geometry 110 No. 1, Paper No. 11, 15p. (2019), 2018
We introduce topological parallelisms of oriented lines (briefly called oriented parallelisms). Every topological parallelism (of lines) on PG(3,R) gives rise to a parallelism of oriented lines, but we show that even the most homogeneous parallelisms of oriented lines other than the Clifford parallelism do not necessarily arise in this way.

Massively parallel computation of globally optimal shortest paths with curvature penalization

open access: yesConcurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Volume 35, Issue 2, 25 January 2023., 2023
Abstract We address the computation of paths globally minimizing an energy involving their curvature, with given endpoints and tangents at these endpoints, according to models known as the Reeds‐Shepp car (reversible and forward variants), the Euler‐Mumford elasticae, and the Dubins car. For that purpose, we numerically solve degenerate variants of the

Skeleton Parallel Programming and Parallel Objects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper describes the ongoing work aimed at integrating the POP-C++ parallel object programming environment with the ASSIST component based parallel programming environment. Both these programming environments are shortly outlined, then several possibilities of integration are considered.

On Performance and Scalability of Cost-Effective SNMP Managers for Large-Scale Polling

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
As networks grow larger in size and complexity, their monitoring is becoming an increasing challenge because of the required polling performance and also due to heterogeneity of devices.
