Parallelism and Functionalism [PDF]

open access: yesCognitive Science, 1989
It has recently been argued by Paul Thagard (1986) that parallel computational models of cognition demonstrate the falsity of the popular theory of mind known as functionalism. It is my contention that his argument is seriously mistaken and rests on a misunderstanding of the functionalist position.

Multi-Swarm Optimization for Extracting Multiple-Choice Tests From Question Banks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this study, a novel method for generating multiple-choice tests is presented, which extracts the required number of tests of the same levels of difficulty in a single attempt and approximates the difficulty level requirement given by users. We propose

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Impact de l’usage d’un manuel sur l’enseignement de la relation de parallélisme à l’école primaire

open access: yesAnnales de Didactique et de Sciences Cognitives
In previous research, we developed a framework for a didactic analysis of mathematics textbooks in the field of geometry at primary school. As a continuation of this work, the present study investigates the possibility of establishing a link between an ...

Quantitative measurement of IgG to SARS‐CoV‐2 antigens using monoclonal antibody‐based enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays

open access: yesClinical & Translational Immunology, 2022
Objective Standardised quantitative analysis of the humoral immune response to SARS‐CoV‐2 antigens may be useful for estimating the extent and duration of immunity. The aim was to develop enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) for the quantification

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

Resolving ambiguous polarity stripping ellipsis structures in Persian

open access: yesGlossa, 2021
Previous studies have shown that English speakers use a range of factors including locality, information structure, and semantic parallelism to interpret clausal ellipsis structures. Yet, the relative importance of each factor is currently underexplored.
