Adaptive Parameter Adaptation in 802.11e
2015 International Conference on Network and Information Systems for Computers, 2015IEEE 802.11e is an extension for media access control in wireless network. It is used for different Quality of Service requirement for different transmission application. But it assumes that all terminals operate in the same transmission speed. But when terminals use different transmission speeds, the access mechanism, EDCA, can not perform to its ...

Parameters adaptation in Differential Evolution
2012 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, 2012Over the last few decades, a considerable number of Differential Evolution (DE) algorithms have been proposed with excellent performance on mathematical benchmarks. However, like any other optimization algorithm, the success of DE is highly dependent on its search operators and control parameters.

A parameter-adaptive control technique
Automatica, 1969Control of linear stochastic systems with unknown parameters is accomplished by means of an approximate solution of the associated functional equation of dynamic programming. The approximation is based on repeated linearizations of a quadratic weighting matrix appearing in the optimal cost function for the control process.

Adaptive updating of regularization parameters
Signal Processing, 2015Iterative minimization of an objective function is usually used for restoring a signal from its noisy measurements. The performance of such iterative algorithms is controlled by regularization parameters, such as Lagrange multipliers. Inappropriate choice of these parameters can either trap the algorithm in local minima and/or lead to a lower ...

Adaptive Mitigation of Parameter Variations
2014 IEEE 23rd Asian Test Symposium, 2014In the deep nanoscale regime, process and runtime variations have emerged as the major sources of uncertainty and unpredictability in circuit operation. Static mitigation approaches do not consider the dependence of variations on workload and chip usage, while adaptive techniques do not incorporate detailed circuit-level information.

Adaptive parameter robust estimation
2008 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence), 2008In this paper, we describe an adaptive technique for states and parameter estimation involving a combination of two methods, namely the Variable Structure Filter (VSF) and the Extend Kalman Filters (EKF).

On a Parameter Adaptive Extremum Controller
Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006An extremum controller based on parameter adaptive control is investigated in this contribution. The objective function to be minimized is parameterized using a simple nonlinear model, and the control is based on real-time estimation of the parameters of this model.

A Parameter-Adaptive Pid-Controller With Stepwise Parameter Optimization
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1984Applications of parameter-adaptive (or self-tuning) digital controllers show that there is a need for adaptive PID-control algorithms in practice. This contribution presents a new parameter-adaptive PID- controller, which is based on an explicit combination of a two-stage square-root parameter estimator and a numerical controller parameter optimization
