Adaptive parameter selection for strategy adaptation in differential evolution
Proceedings of the 13th annual conference companion on Genetic and evolutionary computation, 2011In order to automatically select the most suitable strategy for a specific problem without any prior knowledge, in this paper, we present an adaptive parameter selection technique for strategy adaptation in differential evolution (DE). First, a simple strategy adaptation mechanism is employed to implement the adaptive strategy selection in DE.

Monomodal registration with adaptive parameter computing
International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, 2011Most implementations for image registration are produced by defining a similarity measure between two given images, then minimising an energy functional that combines both similarity and regularity measures. The registration result greatly relies on the weight parameter, which usually is given in advance, big or small parameter may produce the ...

On-line adaptive parameter estimator tuning
Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2004Abstract This paper discusses a systematic technique for tuning a parameter estimator. The estimator used in this work is a discrete version of a projection algorithm estimator. Although the development is explained for linear models, the method is equally applicable to any type of linear or non-linear model that is linear with respect to the ...

Parameter-Efficient Adaptation for Computational Imaging
ICASSP 2024 - 2024 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP)Deep learning-based methods provide remarkable performance in a number of computational imaging problems. Examples include end-to-end trained networks that map measurements to unknown signals, plug-and-play (PnP) methods that use pretrained denoisers as image prior, and model-based unrolled networks that train artifact removal blocks.

Astronomical adaptive optics in parameter space
Optics Letters, 2000We present a general, undiscretized formulation of astronomical adaptive optics that encompasses arbitrary guide star sources and deformable mirror configurations. It is shown that wave-front measurements can be represented as samples of an integral transform of the turbulence perturbation and also that the desired information for adaptive correction ...

Parameter Adaptation Algorithms
2016Parameter adaptation algorithms are the key step for estimating the parameters of the discrete time dynamic model of the system to be controlled and for building an adaptive active vibration control system. A coverage of the subject is provided from the perspective of the user. Stability and convergence issues are addressed.

Fuzzy FWA with dynamic adaptation of parameters
2016 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC), 2016We propose in this paper the use fuzzy logic to adjust parameters in the fireworks algorithm (FWA), that is, parameters that usually are considered as constants in the algorithm, we have transformed them to be dynamic parameters in the FWA. First, we realized an exhaustive experimentation of the parameters of the FWA algorithm, with the purpose of ...

Utility-Based Adaptation of RED Parameters
2006Random Early Detection (RED) is effective in decreasing losses on responsive flows but performs poorly with User Datagram Protocol (UDP) traffic since these do not react to congestion notification. However, it is important to address UDP flows' requirements since UDP traffic forms a considerable part of Internet traffic.

Adaptive Choice of Behavior and Protocol Parameters
2012Research on interaction between multiple self-interested agents has focused on either designing rational behavior for agents given the interaction protocol or designing the interaction protocol that will promote desirable rational behavior by agents.
