Parameter-Constrained Adaptive Control

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1997
Under certain conditions, parameter constraints that impose a priori information about the open-loop system can dramatically improve the performance of explicit adaptive controllers. Under other conditions, the constraints can actually decrease performance. First, this paper presents a novel parameter-constrained identifier on the basis of an efficient,

Parameter Adaptation Algorithms

2016
Parameter adaptation algorithms are the key step for estimating the parameters of the discrete time dynamic model of the system to be controlled and for building an adaptive active vibration control system. A coverage of the subject is provided from the perspective of the user. Stability and convergence issues are addressed.

Adaptive filters with individual adaptation of parameters

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, 1986
Conventional gradient-type adaptive filters use the fixed convergence factor \mu which is normally chosen to be the same for all the filter parameters. In this paper, we propose to use individual convergence factors which are optimally tailored to adapt individual filter parameters.

A Parameter-Adaptive Pid-Controller With Stepwise Parameter Optimization

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1984
Applications of parameter-adaptive (or self-tuning) digital controllers show that there is a need for adaptive PID-control algorithms in practice. This contribution presents a new parameter-adaptive PID- controller, which is based on an explicit combination of a two-stage square-root parameter estimator and a numerical controller parameter optimization

Parameter adaptive control algorithms—A tutorial

Automatica, 1980
An introduction is given to adaptive (self-tuning) control algorithms with recursive parameter estimation, which have obtained increasing attention in recent years. These algorithms result from combinations of recursive parameter estimation algorithms and easy to design control algorithms.

Data-Adaptive Target Parameters

2018
What factors are most important in predicting coronary heart disease? Heart disease is the leading cause of death and serious injury in the United States. To address this question we turn to the Framingham Heart Study, which was designed to investigate the health factors associated with coronary heart disease (CHD) at a time when cardiovascular disease

Parameters Estimation and Adaptive Synchronization of Chaotic Systems with Adaptive Parameters Perturbation

2012 International Conference on Industrial Control and Electronics Engineering, 2012
This paper investigates the problem of parameters estimation and adaptive synchronization of chaotic systems with adaptive parameters perturbation. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the general expression of the suitable adaptive synchronization controller is developed.

Parameters for Adapting Journal Writing Activities

Occupational Therapy In Health Care, 2002
SUMMARY The purpose of this article is to discuss journal writing parameters, which have proven useful in shaping student journal assignments. In a qualitative audit of journal writing activities currently utilized in an occupational therapy curriculum at a midwestern university, the authors used four parameters-focus, temporality, feedback, and ...

Astronomical adaptive optics in parameter space

Optics Letters, 2000
We present a general, undiscretized formulation of astronomical adaptive optics that encompasses arbitrary guide star sources and deformable mirror configurations. It is shown that wave-front measurements can be represented as samples of an integral transform of the turbulence perturbation and also that the desired information for adaptive correction ...
