Speech Recognition using Parameter Extraction and Correlation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
This project is the design of a computer speech recognition system.\ud A off-line, speaker dependent computer based speech recognizer, with\ud a vocabulary of ten digits was implemented on an HP/UX workstation.\ud The system consisted of two subunits ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Pattern-oriented algorithmic complexity: towards compression-based information retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The assimilation of informational content to computational complexity is more than 50 years old, but a way of exploiting practically this idea came only recently with the definition of compression-based similarity measures, which estimate the amount of ...

A Sea Horse Optimization-Based Approach for PEM Fuel Cell Model Parameter Estimation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study aims to determine the model parameters of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) by employing the Sea Horse Optimization (SHO) algorithm, a novel metaheuristic approach inspired by natural behaviors.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Using rule extraction to improve the comprehensibility of predictive models. [PDF]

open access: yes
Whereas newer machine learning techniques, like artifficial neural net-works and support vector machines, have shown superior performance in various benchmarking studies, the application of these techniques remains largely restricted to research ...

Material parameter extraction in terahertz time domain spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) material parameter extraction is necessary for determining the complex refractive index of materials in the THz region.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.
