Predictive Value of Composite Inflammatory Markers for Stroke Prognosis: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Novel composite inflammatory markers' role in stroke prognosis is understudied, and the best predictor is unclear, requiring further exploration. Objectives This study aimed to systematically evaluate the associations of 6 novel composite inflammatory markers on stroke prognosis.

Temporal Interference Stimulation of Centromedian‐Parafascicular Complex in Disorders of Consciousness: A Pilot Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Treatment of disorders of consciousness (DoC) remains a major clinical challenge, and noninvasive, targeted modulation of deep brain structures has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility/safety and preliminary effects of thalamic temporal interference stimulation (TIS) targeting centromedian‐

Factorization, Inference and Parameter Learning in Discrete AMP Chain Graphs

open access: yes, 2015
We address some computational issues that may hinder the use of AMP chain graphs in practice. Specifically, we show how a discrete probability distribution that satisfies all the independencies represented by an AMP chain graph factorizes according to it.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Youth With Childhood‐Onset Lupus: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Our objective was to determine the feasibility and acceptability of the Treatment and Education Approach for Childhood‐Onset Lupus (TEACH), a six‐session cognitive behavioral intervention addressing depressive, fatigue, and pain symptoms, delivered remotely to individual youth with lupus by a trained interventionist.

The Association of Physical Function With Psychosocial Patient‐Reported Outcomes in People With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate how modifiable psychosocial factors and fatigue relate to physical functioning in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods In this cross‐sectional study of two demographically distinct cohorts (Approaches to Positive, Patient‐Centered Experiences of Aging with Lupus [APPEAL] and California Lupus Epidemiology Study

Lifted Generative Parameter Learning.

open access: yes, 2013
Statistical relational learning (SRL) augments probabilistic models with relational representations and facilitates reasoning over sets of objects. When learning the probabilistic parameters for SRL models, however, one often resorts to reasoning over individual objects.

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Machine-learning parameter tracking with partial state observation

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Complex and nonlinear dynamical systems often involve parameters that change with time, accurate tracking of which is essential to tasks such as state estimation, prediction, and control.

Decentralized Parameter-Free Online Learning

open access: yesCoRR
We propose the first parameter-free decentralized online learning algorithms with network regret guarantees, which achieve sublinear regret without requiring hyperparameter tuning. This family of algorithms connects multi-agent coin-betting and decentralized online learning via gossip steps.
