Constrained parameter optimisation: equality constraints

Proceedings of the 2001 Congress on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE Cat. No.01TH8546), 2002
Several methods have been proposed for handling constraints by evolutionary algorithms for parameter optimisation problems. These methods include those based on penalty functions, preservation of feasibility, decoders, repair algorithms, as well as some hybrid techniques.

Dual-parameter optimisation of the elastic properties of skin

Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering, 2012
This paper presents a procedure for characterising the mechanical properties of skin using stochastic inverse identification. It is based on the minimisation of a cost function relative to the comparison between experimental suction experiments and their corresponding finite element models.

Parameter Optimisation in the Receptor Density Algorithm

2011
In this paper a system which optimises parameter values for the Receptor Density Algorithm (RDA), an algorithm inspired by T-cell signalling, is described. The parameter values are optimised using a genetic algorithm. This system is used to optimise the RDA parameters to obtain the best results when finding anomalies within a large prerecorded dataset,

Parameter Control in Evolutionary Optimisation

2020
Finding the global optimum of a complex function is one of the long-standing goals of applied mathematics and numerical analysis. Evolutionary algorithms have become a popular way of solving demanding and expensive optimisation problems. These algorithms are composed of several control parameters that need to be set, for the procedure of searching for ...

Robust decision and optimisation for collaborative parameter design

International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, 2009
The overall performance of a complex product generally depends on a number of specifications distributed in multi-teams from different disciplines, such as mechanics, cybernetics, dynamics and so on. The paper presents a robust decision and optimisation approach based on multidisciplinary modelling for complex product development.

Micro EDM parameters optimisation

2006
Abstract Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is an important process in the field of micro machining. However, a number of issues remain to be solved in order to successfully implement it in an industrial environment. One of these issues is the processing time.

Subtopic Segmentation of Scientific Texts: Parameter Optimisation

2015
Information research within a scientific text needs to deal with the problem of automatic document partition on subtopics by taking text specifics and user purposes into account. This task is important for primary source selection, for working with texts in foreign languages or for getting acquainted with research problems. This paper is focused on the

The optimisation of control parameters for supply multi-chains

Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design, 2005., 2005
The operations of supply multichains are active, mutual, and uncertain; therefore, their operations were designed by considering chains' complicities and cooperative abilities. It can be applied by the parallel operations for the selection of single chain or multiple chains for supply chain management.

Speaker adaptation by a linear transformation with optimised parameters

ICASSP '82. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
Speaker dependence of automatic speech recognition systems can be reduced by applying speaker-specific transformations to adapt the speech signal of a new speaker to that of the reference speaker. Initial investigations showed that speaker adaptation can be performed by transformations using spectral weighting and spectral warping.
