On the parameters optimization in handover algorithms

VTC '98. 48th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference. Pathway to Global Wireless Revolution (Cat. No.98CH36151), 2002
This paper investigates the performance of handover algorithms used in microcellular F-TDMA radio networks such as GSM. A very general simulation tool has been developed within the framework of a cooperation be- tween the University of Bologna and Italtel SPA.

Bayesian optimization of BCI parameters

2016 IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2016
An important factor in custom designing a brain computer interface, BCI, is the estimation of the values of its parameters. This paper proposes a fully automatic algorithm that uses Bayesian optimization to tune the hyper-parameters of a synchronous BCI. The algorithm finds a large number of possible sets of values for the hyper-parameters. Each set is

Optimal Parameter Height Ridges

Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 2002
Ridges have shown themselves to be extremely useful for various image analysis tasks. This paper presents a number of common ridges used in image processing within a common framework and then proproses a defining property for ridges, the subdimensional maximum property.

Regret Transfer and Parameter Optimization

Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2014
Regret matching is a widely-used algorithm for learning how to act. We begin by proving that regrets on actions in one setting (game) can be transferred to warm start the regrets for solving a different setting with same structure but different payoffs that can be written as a function of parameters.

Optimization of Parameters for an USV Autopilot

2015
The purpose of this research is to provide an insight into the effect of different parameters on the autopilot design. Various independent parameters of three autopilots namely, proportional integral derivative, linear quadratic regulator and model predictive controller are analyzed and evaluated to obtain optimum performance.

Parameter Optimization

2018
Parameter optimization is treated as an introduction. Unconstrained and constrained cases are analysed. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived and illustrated. Parameter optimization utilizes the theory of ordinary maxima and minima. The problem is to determine the value of the m-vector u of independent parameters (decision variables) to ...

Optimization Problems with Large Parameters

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1973
The asymptotic behavior of the solution to a constrained minimization problem, when one or more coefficients of linear parts of the objective function becomes infinite, is studied. It is shown that, under certain circumstances the asymptotic behavior is calculable by solving another extremum problem with additional constraints.

Optimization of Parameters for Optimal Performance

2015
The impact of the signal pulse width and the optical filter bandwidth on the performance of both RZ and NRZ On-Off Keying (OOK) Optical Time Division Multiplexing (OTDM)-Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems are studied in this chapter. Using polynomial fitting, an approximated expression for the optimal signal pulse duty cycle as a function ...
