Parameter Selection Criteria for Tomo-SAR Focusing

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
The synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography (TomoSAR) inverse problem is commonly tackled in the context of the direction-of-arrival estimation theory.

Assessment of Selected Anthropometric Parameters Influence on Balance Parameters in Children

open access: yesMedicina, 2020
Background and Objectives: Balance is the ability of an organism to maintain its position in space. Balance disorders in children can lead to injuries and limited physical activity. Balance maintenance changes throughout puberty as well as in response to external factors. The study aimed to evaluate the influence of anthropometric parameters on balance

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Model selection in generalised structured additive regression models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In recent years data sets have become increasingly more complex requiring more flexible instruments for their analysis. Such a flexible instrument is regression analysis based on a structured additive predictor which allows an appropriate modelling for ...

Determination of Ellipsoidal Seed–Soil Interaction Parameters for DEM Simulation

open access: yesAgriculture
During precision sowing, the contact process between the soil and seeds cannot be ignored. The constitutive relationship of soil is relatively complex, with characteristics such as high nonlinearity, while the contact mechanism between the soil and seeds

Structural model updating of acceleration frequency response function based on Kriging method

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2017
To improve the efficiency of frequency response function (FRF) model updating, the Kriging model is introduced into its optimization procedure, thus replacing the finite element model for iteration.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
