A Comparative Cross‑Cultural Analysis of the Profile of A Modern Ukrainian Manager: the Imperatives of the Future in the Context of Internationalization

open access: yesComparative Economic Research, 2018
The preliminary results of the development of the initial theoretical, methodological and applied methodological provisions for the study of the profile of a modern Ukrainian manager are presented in the context of predicting its transformation in the ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Types as parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
This note is a brief survey and a discussion of recent ideas and open problems in the understanding of an important aspect of Type Theory: how terms may depend on types. This problem is at the core of the distinction between “ad hoc” and proper polymorphism and inspired the large amount of work on “parametricity”.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

SOME STATISTICAL DISTRIBUTIONS, WHICH DESCRIBE THE NANOTOPOGRAPHY OF TECHNICAL SURFACES

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2020
The nanotopography of engineering surfaces of machine parts made of high alloy heat-treated steel and electric silver after finishing mechanical treatment was studied.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Stochastic Generator of a New Family of Lifetime Distributions with Illustration

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal
In this article, a new family of lifetime distributions is introduced to help researchers model different types of data sets. Furthermore, the maximum likelihood method was used in estimating the model's parameters.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Cosmological parameters [PDF]

open access: yesSecond international workshop on particle physics and the early universe (COSMO-98), 1999
The discussion of cosmological parameters used to be a source of embarrassment to cosmologists. Today, measurements of the cosmological parameters are leading the way into the era of precision cosmology. The CMB temperature is measured to four significant figures, T_0=2.7277+/-0.002 K; the Hubble constant is now determined with a reliable error ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
