We examine the development of the concept of parametric invariance in classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and thermodynamics, and particularly its relation to entropy. The parametric invariance was used by Ehrenfest as a principle related to the quantization rules of the old quantum mechanics.

Parametric datatype-genericity [PDF]
Datatype-generic programs are programs that are parametrized by a datatype or type functor: whereas polymorphic programs abstract from the "integers" in "lists of integers",datatype-generic programs abstract from the "lists of". There are two main styles of datatype-generic programming: the Algebra of Programming approach, characterized by structured ...

Parametric oscillator tuning curve from observations of total parametric fluorescence [PDF]
Measurements of total emitted parametric fluorescence power are presented and used to fix one point on the predicted tuning curve of a parametric oscillator.

Efficient parametric amplification in high and very high frequency piezoelectric nanoelectromechanical systems [PDF]
Parametric amplification in nanomechanical structures is demonstrated by modulating a purely intrinsic mechanical parameter of the system—the stress—via piezoelectric electromechanical coupling.

Comparison of Parametric and Nonparametric Forecasting Methods for Daily COVID-19 Cases in Malaysia
Numerous research studies are currently examining various measures to control the transmission of COVID-19. One essential task in this regard is predicting or forecasting the number of infected individuals.

Let X and Y be uncountable Polish spaces and B a Borel subset oi X × Y X\, \times \,Y such that for each x, B x {B_x} is uncountable. A Borel parametrization of B is a Borel isomorphism, g, of X × E

Feedback Enhanced Sensitivity in Optomechanics: Surpassing the Parametric Instability Barrier [PDF]
The intracavity power, and hence sensitivity, of optomechanical sensors is commonly limited by parametric instability. Here we characterize the parametric instability induced sensitivity degradation in a micron scale cavity optomechanical system ...

Broadband stimulated four-wave parametric conversion on a tantalum pentoxide photonic chip [PDF]
We exploit the large third order nonlinear susceptibility (?(3) or “Chi 3”) of tantalum pentoxide (Ta2O5) planar waveguides and realize broadband optical parametric conversion on-chip.

This paper describes a family of relatively simple numerical models for calculation of asymmetric electromagnetic (EM) loads at all tokamak structures and coils at asymmetric vertical plasma displacement events (AVDE). Unlike currently known AVDE studies

Effect of Corneal Tilt on the Determination of Asphericity
Purpose: To quantify the effect of levelling the corneal surface around the optical axis on the calculated values of corneal asphericity when conic and biconic models are used to fit the anterior corneal surface.
