Parametric Timing Analysis for Complex Architectures [PDF]
Hard real-time systems have stringent timing constraints expressed in units of time. To ensure that a task finishes within its time-frame, the designer of sucha system must be able to derive upper bounds on the task's worst-case execution time (WCET). To compute such upper bounds, timing analyses are used.

ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Parametric inference for biological sequence analysis [PDF]
One of the major successes in computational biology has been the unification, by using the graphical model formalism, of a multitude of algorithms for annotating and comparing biological sequences. Graphical models that have been applied to these problems include hidden Markov models for annotation, tree models for phylogenetics ...

Re‐Irradiation in Pediatric Diffuse Midline Glioma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study
ABSTRACT Background Children with recurrent diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) have limited therapeutic options at recurrence. Re‐irradiation (RT2) may be used at progression, but with uncertainty about the benefit. Methods We conducted a multi‐institutional retrospective study of children aged < 18 with DMG treated at three centers (Toronto, Canada ...

Numerical prediction of the non-linear behaviour of perforated metal shear panels
Steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) are innovative systems able to confer to either new or existing structures a significant capacity to resist earthquake and wind loads.

Parametric Analysis of RNA Branching Configurations [PDF]
Motivated by recent work in parametric sequence alignment, we study the parameter space for scoring RNA folds and construct an RNA polytope. A vertex of this polytope corresponds to RNA secondary structures with common branching. We use this polytope and its normal fan to study the effect of varying three parameters in the free energy model that are ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Anthracycline‐related cardiac remodeling precedes heart failure in childhood cancer survivors. The objectives of this study were to determine the relationships between patient‐specific factors, moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and cardiac remodeling.

ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...
