Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Spatiotemporal order and parametric instabilities from first-principles

open access: yesnpj Quantum Materials
Shaping crystal structure with light is an enduring goal of physics and materials engineering. Here we present calculations in candidate materials selected by symmetry that allow light-induced spatiotemporal parametric instabilities.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Parametric and self-excited oscillations under nonlinear parametric action and lag in elasticity

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics
The interaction of parametric oscillations and self-oscillations under nonlinear parametric excitation and delay in elasticity is considered. To solve the differential equations of the system motion, the direct linearization method was used and equations

Proposals for the Multiparametric Design Application in Electrical Mechanical Engineering [PDF]

open access: yesProblems of the Regional Energetics
The aim of the work is to obtain practical results for the electrical machines multiparametric de-sign application, to conduct a comparative analysis of the parametric and multiparametric design results of a turbogenerator and its elements when the load ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The influence of nonlinear parametric excitation on the interaction of forced, parametric and self-oscillations

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics
In order to reveal the effect of nonlinear (cubic) parametric excitation (NPE) on the interaction of forced, parametric, and self-oscillation with a limited-power energy source, a widely used computed model of a self-oscillating system receiving energy ...

Dynamic Display of Changing Posterior in Bayesian Survival Analysis: The Software

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 1999
We consider the problem of estimating an unknown distribution function in the presence of censoring under the conditions that a parametric model is believed to hold approximately.
