An efficient and accurate interpolation method for parametric curve machining [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
A subsection interpolation method based on the curve curvature threshold is proposed to resolve the incompatible problem of machining accuracy and machining efficiency in parametric curve machining.

Continuous-Curvature Path Generation Using Fermat's Spiral [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 2013
This paper proposes a novel methodology, based on Fermat's spiral (FS), for constructing curvature-continuous parametric paths in a plane. FS has a zero curvature at its origin, a property that allows it to be connected with a straight line smoothly ...

On the geometry and the topology of parametric curves [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 45th International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation, 2020
We consider the problem of computing the topology and describing the geometry of a parametric curve in R. We present an algorithm, PTOPO, that constructs an abstract graph that is isotopic to the curve in the embedding space. Our method exploits the benefits of the parametric representation and does not resort to implicitization.

Parametric Curve Comparison for Modeling Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Substructures

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The drive for the cost reduction of floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) systems to the levels of fixed bottom foundation turbine systems can be achieved with creative design and analysis techniques of the platform with free-form curves to save ...

Coupler curves of four-bar linkages plotted in graphical programs [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Mechanical Engineering, 2019
This work is devoted to the plotting of coupler curves in the environment of graphical programs. As there is a large variety of shapes, for the purpose of this study, the authors selected those curves that feature a cusp form.

Power Curve Modelling for Wind Turbine Using Artificial Intelligence Tools and Pre-established Inference Criteria

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2021
We propose a new way to develop non-parametric models of power curves using artificial intelligence tools. One parametric model and eight non-parametric models are developed to emulate the behavior described by the power curve of the wind farms.

Exact computation for existence of a knot counterexample

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2019
Previously, numerical evidence was presented of a self-intersecting Bezier curve having the unknot for its control polygon. This numerical demonstration resolved open questions in scientic visualization, but did not provide a formal proof of self ...

Hybrid Second Order Method for Orthogonal Projection onto Parametric Curve in n-Dimensional Euclidean Space

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
Orthogonal projection a point onto a parametric curve, three classic first order algorithms have been presented by Hartmann (1999), Hoschek, et al. (1993) and Hu, et al. (2000) (hereafter, H-H-H method). In this research, we give a proof of the approach&#

Receiver Operator Characteristic Analysis of Biomarkers Evaluation in Diagnostic Research [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2018
Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) analysis is the choice of method in evaluation of biomarkers in bioinformatics research. However, there is no single method and also no single accuracy index in evaluating diagnostic tools.

Generalized Fractional Bézier Curve with Shape Parameters

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
The construction of new basis functions for the Bézier or B-spline curve has been one of the most popular themes in recent studies in Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD).
