L-systems in Geometric Modeling [PDF]
We show that parametric context-sensitive L-systems with affine geometry interpretation provide a succinct description of some of the most fundamental algorithms of geometric modeling of curves.

Geometric convergence rates for cardinal spline subdivision with general integer arity
A rigorous convergence analysis is presented for arbitrary order cardinal spline subdivision with general integer arity, for which the binary case, with arity two, is a well-studied subject.

Construction of Developable Surface with Geodesic or Line of Curvature Coordinates
In this paper, a developable surface with geodesic or line of curvature coordinates is constructed in the Euclidean 3-space. A developable surface is coordinated by two families of parametric curves, base curves (directrices) and lines (rulings).

$ G^2/C^1 $ Hermite interpolation of offset curves of parametric regular curves
In this paper we presented a method of $ G^2 $ Hermite interpolation of offset curves of regular plane curves based on approximating the normal vector fields. We showed that our approximant is also $ C^1 $ Hermite interpolation of the offset curve.

In the context of parametric surrogates, several nontrivial issues arise when a whole curve shall be predicted from given input features. For instance, different sampling or ending points lead to non-aligned curves.

NURBS-Based Parametric Design for Ship Hull Form
Recently, the NURBS technique has been widely used in the 3D design software for ships. However, in most research, the NURBS technique is only applied to the mathematical representation of hull curves and surfaces, and the parametric deformation of hull ...

Curve and Surface Geometric Modeling via Generalized Bézier-like Model
Generalized Bernstein-like functions (gB-like functions) with different shape parameters are used in this work. Parametric and geometric conditions in generalized form are developed. Some numerical examples of the parametric continuity (PC) and geometric

Parametric Generation of Small Ship Hulls with CAD Software
CAD software is a daily tool in ship design offices and shipyards, and every software uses NURBS or B-splines curves and surfaces as common foundations.
