Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Constant-Ratio Blended Models of Curves and Surfaces in Euclidean 3-Space

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
We consider a simple blending method for parametric curves and surfaces. The described blending method offers a systematic approach to creating smooth transitions between parametric curves and surfaces while maintaining Cn-continuity.

A Bayesian non-parametric mixed-effects model of microbial growth curves.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2020
Substantive changes in gene expression, metabolism, and the proteome are manifested in overall changes in microbial population growth. Quantifying how microbes grow is therefore fundamental to areas such as genetics, bioengineering, and food safety ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Parametrizations of elliptic curves by Shimura curves and by classical modular curves [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1997
Fix an isogeny class 𝒜 of semistable elliptic curves over Q. The elements of 𝒜 have a common conductor N , which is a square-free positive integer. Let D be a divisor of N which is the product of an even number of primes—i.e., the discriminant of an indefinite ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Numerical modelling and robust parametric estimation of surfaces useful for representation of tooth flanks

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
This paper concerns modelling of surfaces resulting from measurements or from digital simulation of surfaces e.g., tooth flanks, based on the theory of gearing, with intentionally introduced modification usually defined in discrete form.

Certain Algorithms for Modeling Uncertain Data Using Fuzzy Tensor Product Bézier Surfaces

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
Real data and measures are usually uncertain and cannot be satisfactorily described by accurate real numbers. The imprecision and vagueness should be modeled and represented in data using the concept of fuzzy numbers.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
