Unity-Efficiency Parametric Down-Conversion via Amplitude Amplification
We propose an optical scheme, employing optical parametric down-converters interlaced with nonlinear sign gates (NSGs), that completely converts an $n$-photon Fock-state pump to $n$ signal-idler photon pairs when the down-converters' crystal lengths are chosen appropriately.

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

PARAMETRIC DOWN CONVERSION OF A BOSONIC THERMOFIELD VACUUM [PDF]
We consider a process of parametric down conversion where the input state is a bosonic thermofield vacuum. This state leads to a parametric down conversion, generating an output of two excited photons. Following a thermofield dynamics scheme, the input state, initially in a bosonic thermofield vacuum, and the output states, initially in vacuum states,

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Stimulated emission tomography for efficient characterization of spatial entanglement
Stimulated-emission tomography (SET) is an excellent tool for characterizing the process of spontaneous parametric down conversion (SPDC), which is commonly used to create pairs of entangled photons for use in quantum information protocols.

The existing widely-accepted theory of photon-pair generation via spontaneous down-conversion (SPDC) in nonlinear optical crystals and waveguides is incomplete, as it fails to account for the important physical phenomenon of parametric resonances.

Photon-added coherent states in parametric down-conversion [PDF]
Photon-added coherent states have been realized in optical parametric down-conversion by Zavatta {\em et al} [Science 306 (2004) 660-662]. In this report, it is established that the states generated in the process are {\em ideal} photon-added coherent states. It is shown that the scheme can generate higher order photon-added coherent states.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
