Violation of Bell's Inequality with Photons from Independent Sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report a violation of Bell's inequality using one photon from a parametric down-conversion source and a second photon from an attenuated laser beam. The two photons were entangled at a beam splitter using the post-selection technique of Shih and Alley

PARAMETRIC DOWN-CONVERSION IN PHOTONIC CRYSTAL WAVEGUIDES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2006
Photonic crystals create dramatic new possibilities for nonlinear optics. I suggest to use defect waveguides for the production of pairs of photons in order to achieve particular dispersion characteristics and potentially very high brightness. I identify two possible phase-matching schemes and discuss their properties and advantages.

Quality of polarization entanglement in spontaneous parametric down conversion

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
We experimentally demonstrated a high degree of polarization entanglement known as entanglement visibility through spontaneous parametric down conversion process pumped by a femtosecond laser.

Phase conjugation of twisted Gaussian Schell model beams in stimulated down-conversion

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
Stimulated parametric down-conversion is a nonlinear optical process that can be used for phase conjugation and frequency conversion of an optical field.

Polarization Entangled W State using Parametric Down-Conversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
An experimental scheme for preparing a polarization entangled W states from four photons emitted by parametric down-conversion is proposed. We consider two different configurations and a method of improving the yield by using single photon sources.

The Source of Time-Correlated Photons at 1.064 μm and its Applications

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
The source of time-correlated photon-pairs at 1064 nm is described. The source consists of the spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) generator, pumped by cw laser operating at 532 nm, and the measuring and control appliances.

Polarization-Angle SPDC Spectrum and its Effect on Generated Photon States

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
Analytical formulas for vector components of the polarization vector of spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) radiation in the degenerated regime and its dependencies on the angle between the principal sections for the pump and SPDC rays are ...

Entanglement, Complementarity, and Vacuum Fields in Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion

open access: yesAtoms, 2019
Using two crystals for spontaneous parametric down-conversion in a parallel setup, we observe two-photon interference with high visibility. The high visibility is consistent with complementarity and the absence of which-path information. The observations

Full characterization of spontaneous parametric down conversion in non-ideal quarter-wavelength semiconductor Bragg reflection waveguide

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
Entangled photons are important for testing foundations of quantum physics and are at the heart of quantum technology. Integrated photonics has overwhelming dominance in terms of density and performance, making it a promise route for scalable quantum ...

Seeded Supercontinuum Generation with Optical Parametric Down-Conversion

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2010
The transition between modulation instability gain and induced soliton fission in nonlinear fiber is experimentally investigated by coherent seeding with the two-color output of an optical parametric oscillator. This approach produces supercontinuum spectra displaying persistent, fine modulation from seeding-induced noise reduction.
