Astrophysical implications of an eternal homogeneous gravitational collapse model with a parametrization of expansion scalar

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2023
AbstractIn this study, we continue our previous work (Annu et al. 2023) by introducing a novel parametrization of the expansion scalar $$\Theta $$ Θ as a rational function of time t. The paper provides a comprehensive analysis of a homogeneous gravitational collapsing system, wherein the exact solutions of the ...

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Wavenumber-explicit parametric holomorphy of Helmholtz solutions in the context of uncertainty quantification

open access: yes, 2022
A crucial role in the theory of uncertainty quantification (UQ) of PDEs is played by the regularity of the solution with respect to the stochastic parameters; indeed, a key property one seeks to establish is that the solution is holomorphic with respect ...

The Role of Supplier Quality in e-Procurement Negotiation

open access: yesKvalita Inovácia Prosperita, 2020
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the significance and the role of supplier rating as a formalised supplier quality measure to achieve better- negotiated prices and to identify price premium resulting from improved rating.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Parameterized prime implicant/implicate computations for regular logics

open access: yesMathware & soft computing, 1997
Prime implicant/implicate generating algorithms for multiple-valued logics (MVL's) are introduced. Techniques from classical logic not requiring large normal forms or truth tables are adapted to certain "regular'' multiple-valued logics. This is accomplished by means of signed formulas, a meta-logic for multiple valued logics; the ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
