Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

A Numerical Study on Contact Condition and Wear of Roller in Cold Rolling

open access: yesMetals, 2017
An accurate determination of the contact pressure and local sliding in a cold rolling process is an essential step towards the prediction of the roller’s life due to wear damage.

Rolling bearing parametric excitation of a jeffcott rotor system

open access: yes, 2020
Rolling bearings are still widely used in aeroengines. Whenever rotors are modeled, rolling bearing components are typically modeled using springs. In simpler models, this spring is considered to have a constant mean value.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Evaluating accurate and efficient sampling strategies designed to measure social behavior and brush use in drylot housed cattle.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Efficient sampling strategies expedite behavioral data collection. While multiple studies have evaluated sampling strategies for core behaviors in cattle, few have focused on social interactions.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Robust Tension Control of Strip for 5-Stand Tandem Cold Mills

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2014
Tandem cold rolling process is a nonlinear complex system with external and internal uncertainties and significant disturbances. The improvement in the quality of the final output depends on the control strategy of centerline thickness and interstand ...

NUMERICAL MODELLING AND STUDY OF PARAMETRIC ROLLING FOR C11 CONTAINERSHIP IN REGULAR HEAD SEAS USING CONSISTENT STRIP THEORY

open access: yesBrodogradnja, 2017
In this paper, a numerical model was proposed to simulate the parametric rolling of ships in head seas. The method was developed in time-domain based on strip theory, in which a consistent way of estimating the radiation forces was applied using impulse ...

DETERMINING AND VERIFYING THE GEOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF HELICAL GROOVES IN THE WORM IN PLANETARY TOROIDAL DRIVES IN A MORE EFFECTIVE WAY [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Journal of Silesian University of Technology. Series Transport, 2017
In the toroidal drive, a screw-shaped groove is cut into the globoid worm. There is contact with the rolling element in this groove. This helix can be described by parametric equations. When calculating the values of the first and second curvature of the
