Parametric spin wave testing by observation of transition processes

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1990
Abstract Relaxation rates and coupling coefficients of spin waves have been determined in the layered ferromagnet ( CH 3 NH 3 ) 2 CuCl 4 . The parameters could be measured by observing the transient response of the parallel pumped microwave absorption to rapid magnetic field changes.

SPIN WAVES PARAMETRIC AUTORESONANCE

Физика металлов и металловедение / Physics of Metals and Metallography
This paper is devoted to the investigation of parametric autoresonance of spin waves in ferromagnets with easy-axis anisotropy. It is assumed that both the constant and alternating magnetic fields are oriented along the anisotropy axis. The threshold values of the amplitude of the alternating magnetic field required for autoresonance excitation have ...

Bifurcation under parametric excitation of spin waves

Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1984
Variation of external parameters is shown to cause a rearrangement of the stationary state of the spin system under the conditions of parametric excitation.

Nonlinear radiation damping of parametrically excited spin waves

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1996
We consider the process of microwave parametric excitation of spin waves in a resonator. The interaction of the resonator cavity photon with the parametric magnon pair is expected to cause additional nonlinearity: nonlinear radiation damping which is proportional to the quality factor Q of the resonator.

PARAMETRIC EXCITATION OF SPINNING TEST PARTICLES BY GRAVITATIONAL WAVES

The Ninth Marcel Grossmann Meeting, 2002
One of the most striking predictions of Einstein's theory of gravitation is the existence of gravitational waves. Such waves are thought to be produced by astrophysical phenomena ranging from the coalescence of orbiting binaries to violent events in the early Universe.

Parametric excitation of spin waves in ferrites at low temperatures

Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1981
We have experimentally studied parametrically excited spin waves in samples of yttrium iron garnet in the temperature range 4.2–300 °K at a pump frequency of 9.4 GHz. It is shown that rare earth impurities reduce the value of the real and imaginary parts of the nonlinear susceptibility in the region of temperatures where they significantly influence ...

Parametric generation of acoustic waves and mode-locking of spin waves through magnetoelastic coupling

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1970
A YIG disk with parallel and polished surfaces was bonded onto a quartz rod with a transducer attached to it. The YIG sample was placed in a microwave cavity in a parallel-pumping configuration. For microwave power several decibels above the threshold for spin-wave instability, parametric generation of low-frequency acoustic waves was observed, and was

Parametric frequency conversion with amplification of a weak spin wave in a ferrite film

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1998
We report on experiments of parametric frequency conversion of a weak signal spin wave by a copropagating strong pump spin wave. An effective spin-wave frequency conversion with amplification occurred when the carrier frequencies of the co-propagating waves were in the spectral region of high negative dispersion in the dipole-exchange spin-wave ...

Parametric and modulation instabilities of magnetostatic surface spin waves in ferromagnetic films

Journal of Applied Physics, 1997
First-order parametric instability, modulation instability and second-order instability processes for magnetostatic surface waves propagating in a pure yttrium iron garnet film are investigated in accordance with the relationship between the magnetostatic wave frequency and the internal magnetic field.

Magnonic noise in the parametric spin-wave pumping process

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics
Abstract This study investigates magnonic noise in the context of parametric spin-wave pumping in a yttrium iron garnet waveguide. By analyzing the input power dependence of parametric spin-wave spectra, we observed spectrum broadening and the emergence of additional pumping channels.
