Parametric statistics of zeros of Husimi representations of quantum chaotic eigenstates and random polynomials

open access: yes, 1996
Local parametric statistics of zeros of Husimi representations of quantum eigenstates are introduced. It is conjectured that for a classically fully chaotic systems one should use the model of parametric statistics of complex roots of Gaussian random ...

Generalized empirical likelihood-based model selection criteria for moment condition models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper proposes model selection criteria (MSC) for unconditional moment models using generalized empirical likelihood (GEL) statistics. The use of GEL-statistics in lieu of J-statistics (in the spirit of Andrews, 1999, Econometrica 67, 543-564; and ...

Intraoperative Collection of Ascitic Fluid With Intra‐ or Postoperative Reinfusion in Ovarian Cancer: Safety and Feasibility of a Roller Pumping Method

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

Differentially Private Nonparametric Hypothesis Testing

open access: yes, 2019
Hypothesis tests are a crucial statistical tool for data mining and are the workhorse of scientific research in many fields. Here we study differentially private tests of independence between a categorical and a continuous variable.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Measuring Nonclassicality of Mesoscopic Twin-Beam States with Silicon Photomultipliers

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
The study of nonclassical properties of quantum states is a relevant topic for fundamental Quantum Optics and Quantum Information applications. In the mesoscopic domain, promising results have been obtained using photon-number-resolving detectors.

Semi-parametric estimation of shifts

open access: yes, 2007
We observe a large number of functions differing from each other only by a translation parameter. While the main pattern is unknown, we propose to estimate the shift parameters using $M$-estimators. Fourier transform enables to transform this statistical

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Comparação de duas metodologias de amostragem atmosférica com ferramenta estatística não paramétrica Comparison of two atmospheric sampling methodologies with non-parametric statistical tools

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2005
In atmospheric aerosol sampling, it is inevitable that the air that carries particles is in motion, as a result of both externally driven wind and the sucking action of the sampler itself.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.
