Testing for Zeros in the Spectrum of an Univariate Stationary Process: Part I. [PDF]

open access: yes
Non parametric and parametric estimation for the spectral density of a stationary process is a well-known topic, except when the spectrum vanishes for some frequency.

Random coefficient regressions: parametric goodness of fit tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Random coefficient regression models have been applied in different fields during recent years and they are a unifying frame for many statistical models.

Multivariate Specification Tests Based on a Dynamic Rosenblatt Transform

open access: yes, 2018
This paper considers parametric model adequacy tests for nonlinear multivariate dynamic models. It is shown that commonly used Kolmogorov-type tests do not take into account cross-sectional nor time-dependence structure, and a test, based on multi ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

NON-PARAMETRIC MANN-KENDALL AND SEN’S SLOPE ESTIMATE AS A METHOD FOR DETECTING TREND WITHIN HYDRO-METEOROLOGICAL TIME SERIES: A REVIEW

open access: yesAcademy Journal of Science and Engineering, 2023
Climate and water resources are interconnected in a complex way such that a change in any one induces a change in another. Trend analysis is usually employed while assessing the long-term impact of climate variability on the environment, particularly ...

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Experimental Comparisons of Metaheuristic Algorithms in Solving Combined Economic Emission Dispatch Problem Using Parametric and Non-Parametric Tests

open access: yesApplied Artificial Intelligence, 2018
In this paper, the parametric and non-parametric statistical tests are applied for comparisons of metaheuristic algorithms’ (MAs) behavior in solving Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED) problem. In the last years, in many published papers, a large
