Parametric Design of Outdoor Broadcasting Studio Based on Schema Theory

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
This paper mainly demonstrates that the schema is an important way for the architect to cognize architecture form logic. It connects schema to algorithm of parametric design in order to seek the “algorithm schema” generation in parametric design of ...

Exchange market pressure in South Africa and Kenya: An analysis using parametric and non-parametric extreme value theory

open access: yesJournal of Economic and Financial Sciences, 2019
Orientation: Exchange market pressure (EMP) is the selling pressure of domestic currency or excess demand needed for foreign currency. Research purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyse EMP using extreme value theory (EVT) and to compare two ...

Understanding High-Gain Twin-Beam Sources Using Cascaded Stimulated Emission

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2020
We present a new method for the spectral characterization of pulsed twin-beam sources in the high-gain regime, using cascaded stimulated emission. We show an implementation of this method for a periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate spontaneous ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

A Note on Multi-Index Mittag-Leffler Functions and Parametric Laguerre-Type Exponentials

open access: yesAxioms
This paper explores the eigenfunctions of specific Laguerre-type parametric operators to develop multi-parametric models, which are associated with a class of the generalized Mittag-Leffler type functions, for dynamical systems and population dynamics ...

Bifurcations of Traveling Wave Solutions for the Coupled Higgs Field Equation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, 2011
By using the bifurcation theory of dynamical systems, we study the coupled Higgs field equation and the existence of new solitary wave solutions, and uncountably infinite many periodic wave solutions are obtained.

Parametric pitch instability investigation of Deep Draft Semi-submersible platform in irregular waves

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2016
Parametric pitch instability of a Deep Draft Semi-submersible platform (DDS) is investigated in irregular waves. Parametric pitch is a form of parametric instability, which occurs when parameters of a system vary with time and the variation satisfies a ...

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Comparing questionnaires across cultures: Using Mokken scaling to compare the Italian and English versions of the MOLES index

open access: yesNursing Open, 2019
Aim The aims of this study were (a) to translate the MOLES index from English to Italian and (ii) to compare the two versions using non‐parametric item response theory. Design An online survey was used to gather data. Methods Forward and back translation
