[Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase in Calicophoron erschowi (Trematoda: Paramphistomidae)].
Parazitologiia, 1979The trematode Calicophoron erschowi possesses high active phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase. Enzyme activity is concentrated in the cytoplasm. The enzyme has the optimum pH 6.0 and is active in the presence of ions Mn++ and inosine diphosphate. Alanine does not affect its activity. Sulphide oxinide in concentration 1.4-10(-6) M inhibits the activity up

The musculature of cercariae, pre-ovigerous, and ovigerous adults of Diplodiscus subclavatus was studied by means of TRITC-conjugated phalloidin staining of filamentous actin and confocal scanning laser microscopy. The body wall appears to include four muscle layers as follows: circular, outer longitudinal, diagonal, and inner longitudinal.

The intermediate hosts of Diplodiscus subclavatus are in Togo, Bulinus forskalii and Segmentorbis kinisaensis. The cercariae, amphistome, leave soon the rediae to achieve their development at the top of the hepatopancreas of the mollusc. The usual infestation of the definitive host occurs by penetration of cercariae into tadpoles with the water flood ...

Total lipids and their different fractions have been determined in two amphistomid parasites, Calcophoron papillosum and Paramphistomum epiclitum, collected from the runnen of buffaloes, Bubalus bubalis. Among the fractional lipids free fatty acids have been found to be in highest concentration and glycolipids in the lowest concentration. Phospholipids
