Bu araştırma Haziran 2003-Kasım 2003 tarihleri arasında Afyon İli sığırlarında genel olarak paramphistomosis ve distomatosis yaygınlığını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla 746’sı erkek, 255’i dişi olmak üzere toplam 1001 sığır rumen, retikulum, karaciğer ve safra kesesi incelenmiştir.
