f‐Block Element‐Based MOF Thin Films: A Platform for Luminescence, Sensing, and Energy Applications
f‐Block element–based metal–organic framework (f‐MOF) thin films offer exceptional potential for luminescent, sensing, and energy‐related applications. This review surveys recent progress in their synthesis, characterization, and functional implementation, emphasizing the diversity of available thin‐film fabrication strategies. The convergence of these

We introduce π–extended viologens with B‐N fused dipyridylanthracene (BDPA) as conduit for delocalization. Quaternization of pyridyl‐substituted BDPA by methylation or Lewis pair formation with B(C6F5)3 produces strongly colored compounds that are emissive in the near‐IR.

Paraquat, but not maneb, induces synucleinopathy and tauopathy in striata of mice through inhibition of proteasomal and autophagic pathways. [PDF]
SNCA and MAPT genes and environmental factors are important risk factors of Parkinson's disease [PD], the second-most common neurodegenerative disease. The agrichemicals maneb and paraquat selectively target dopaminergic neurons, leading to parkinsonism,

Gene up-regulation by DNA demethylation in 35S-gshI-transgenic poplars (Populus x canescens) [PDF]
Gene expression levels of transgene 35S-gshI (γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase) cloned from E. coli, and the endogenous gene gsh1 of poplar (Populus x canescens) were upregulated by the DNA demethylating agent DHAC (5,6-dihydro-5'-azacytidine ...

ABSTRACT The association between pesticide exposure and Parkinson's disease (PD) is substantial, but heterogeneity in methodology and lack of categorization according to the type of exposure and pesticide classes in previous meta‐analyses impair the interpretation of data. This study aims to update evidence of the association between pesticide exposure

Using bosentan to treat paraquat poisoning-induced acute lung injury in rats. [PDF]
Paraquat poisoning is well known for causing multiple organ function failure (MODS) and high mortality. Acute lung injury and advanced pulmonary fibrosis are the most serious complications. Bosentan is a dual endothelin receptor antagonist.

The Generics Revolution and the New Economic Geography of the Global Pesticide Industry
ABSTRACT The global pesticide industry transformed from one dominated by patented products and legacy multinationals with strong manufacturing bases in the United States and EU to one dominated by generic products produced in India and China. We use proprietary market research data, data from regulatory filings, industry press and bilateral trade data ...
