Diversity and evolution of transposable elements in the plant-parasitic nematodes

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background Transposable elements (TEs) are mobile DNA sequences that propagate within genomes, occupying a significant portion of eukaryotic genomes and serving as a source of genetic variation and innovation. TEs can impact genome dynamics through their

Plant‐parasitic nematodes of potential phytosanitary importance, their main hosts and reported yield losses

open access: yes, 2013
The potential phytosanitary importance of all named plant-parasitic nematode species was determined by evaluating available information on species characteristics, association with economically-important crop hosts, and ability to act as vectors of ...

Steric Coordination Modulated Iodine Chemistry With Four‐Electron Conversion for Zinc‐Iodine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐additive electrolyte strategy is developed to address the hydrolysis of I+ in the aqueous electrolytes. The steric‐hindrance effect of TES− effectively shields I+ from nucleophilic attacks by hydroxyl groups, facilitating the reversible I−/I0/I+ conversion with four‐electron transfer.

Plant-Parasitic Nematodes Associated with Hop Production in Tasmania, Australia

open access: yes, 2003
The abundance, diversity and temporal fluctuations in plant-parasitic nematodes associated with hop production, and their effect on cone yield and levels of alpha acids were assessed in two hop (cv.

NRPS-like ATRR in Plant-Parasitic Nematodes Involved in Glycine Betaine Metabolism to Promote Parasitism

open access: yes
Plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are among the most serious phytopathogens and cause widespread and serious damage in major crops. In this study, using a genome mining method, we identified nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS)-like enzymes in genomes ...

The plant-parasitic cyst nematode effector GLAND4 is a DNA-binding protein

open access: yes, 2018
Cyst nematodes are plant pathogens that infect a wide range of economically important crops. One parasitic mechanism employed by cyst nematodes is the production and in planta delivery of effector proteins to modify plant cells and suppress defenses to ...

Strengthened Interfacial Coupling Between Self‐Assembled Monolayers and Bulk Heterojunctions Enables Thermally Stable Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecularly engineered self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) featuring extended conjugated terminals facilitate superior interfacial coupling with the organic solar cell active layer. By physically anchoring the local morphology, this design suppresses thermal degradation, allowing devices to operate at 85°C for 150 h before degrading to 90% of their ...
