Glycomic profiling of parathyroid neoplasms via lectin microarray analysis. [PDF]
Purpose Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare malignancy with a poor prognosis. Diagnosis of PC is often difficult in clinical practice and efficient diagnostic markers are still needed for differential diagnosis.

Circular RNA profile of parathyroid neoplasms: analysis of co-expression networks of circular RNAs and mRNAs. [PDF]
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a recently identified class of non-coding RNAs that participate in multiple biological processes and tumour progression. However, circRNA expression pattern in parathyroid neoplasms remains unknown.

IMMUNOCHEMICAL IDENTIFICATION OF PARATHYROID HORMONE IN NON-PARATHYROID NEOPLASMS ASSOCIATED WITH HYPERCALCEMIA [PDF]
1. Immunochemical cross-reactivity, but not identity, has been demonstrated between bovine parathyroid hormone and an antigen in biologically active extracts of human parathyroid tissue by quantitative C' fixation and C' fixation inhibition. 2.

Intranuclear holes (cytoplasmic pseudoinclusions) in parathyroid neoplasms, or “holes happen” [PDF]
A parathyroid adenoma demonstrating intranuclear holes on aspiration cytology prompted a review of parathyroid neoplasms to determine the frequency of this phenomenon.Aspiration cytology slides from 30 parathyroid adenomas and 1 parathyroid carcinoma were reviewed.

Parathyroid adenoma masquerading as oncocytic thyroid follicular neoplasm [PDF]
Differentiation of thyroid follicular lesions from parathyroid lesions on fine needle aspiration cytology can be very challenging, both being endocrine lesions with overlap in cytomorphologic features. In some cases, it may be impossible to differentiate

The Unequal Distribution of Parathyroid Neoplasms in Male Patients [PDF]
There is a known lesser incidence of primary hyperparathyroidism and parathyroid neoplasms in male patients. Any difference in the anatomic distribution between males and females has not been documented. Review of our institutional experience with 125 pathologically confirmed parathyroid adenomas (119) or carcinomas (six) from 2000 through 2012 was ...

Between 1982 and 1989, 145 patients underwent operations for persistent or recurrent primary hyperparathyroidism (HPT). At re-exploration, 15 patients (10.3%) were found to have locally recurrent parathyroid tumors (11 patients with adenoma and 4 with carcinoma). These 15 patients had 28 previous operations at outside institutions for HPT.
