Glycomic profiling of parathyroid neoplasms via lectin microarray analysis. [PDF]

open access: hybridEndocrine
Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare malignancy with a poor prognosis. Diagnosis of PC is often difficult in clinical practice and efficient diagnostic markers are still needed for differential diagnosis. Aberrant glycosylations of glycoproteins were identified with lectin microarray in various cancers, while relevant information is lacking in PC.In ...

Clinical and molecular genetics of parathyroid neoplasms. [PDF]

open access: greenBest Pract Res Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2010
Primary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) results from the excessive secretion of parathyroid hormone from parathyroid tumours. While most HPT is sporadic, it is associated with a familial syndrome in a minority of cases. The study of these syndromes has helped define the pathophysiology of both familial and sporadic parathyroid neoplasms.
