Principles of Percutaneous Paravalvular Leak Closure
Paravalvular regurgitation affects 5% to 17% of all surgically implanted prosthetic heart valves. Patients who have paravalvular regurgitation can be asymptomatic or present with hemolysis or heart failure, or both. Reoperation is associated with increased morbidity and is not always successful because of underlying tissue friability, inflammation, or ...

Comparable Outcomes of Bicuspid Aortic Valves for Rapid- Deployment Aortic Valve Replacement
Background: Edwards Intuity is recognized as a relatively contraindicated bioprosthesis for bicuspid aortic valve disease. This study compared the early echocardiographic and clinical outcomes of rapid-deployment aortic valve replacement for bicuspid ...

ABSTRACT Culture‐negative endocarditis with features consistent with Brucella can rapidly destroy a normal aortic valve in young adults. 2023 Duke‐ISCVID criteria (clinical/imaging findings plus histopathology), supported by serology and occupational exposure enabled urgent combined antimicrobial‐surgical management without culture confirmation ...

Repair of mitral paravalvular leak with double left atrial wall folding
Mitral paravalvular leaks can be repaired by alternative repair techniques instead of direct suture repair of the leak site. We report our technique of double left atrial wall folding for repair of posterior mitral paravalvular leaks. © 2013 The Japanese

LVAD‐associated aortic regurgitation impairs circulatory support, with limited surgical and off‐label options. In a multicenter registry (n = 30), the AR‐dedicated JenaValve Trilogy TAVR eliminated AR, achieving 96.7% (29/30) technical success and 93.3% (28/30) device success (VARC‐3), with 3.3% (1/30) 30‐day mortality.

Same‐Day Discharge After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: Who, When, and How?
ABSTRACT The burden of severe aortic stenosis requiring treatment is growing due to ageing populations. This places increased demands on health resources due to the growing number of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures and hospital bed occupancy.

Percutaneous closure of paravalvular leak after Cone repair for Ebstein's anomaly
We report the use of an Amplatzer Vascular plug for percutaneous closure of a paravalvular leak after Cone repair in a 5-year-old boy with Ebstein's anomaly. A paravalvular leak of the tricuspid valve developed gradually after Cone repair-surgery.

ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the implementation effectiveness of a multicomponent multidisciplinary Enhanced Recovery After Surgery pathway integrated with an information platform for patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation. Design A single‐center quasi‐experimental study with a non‐concurrent historical control group.
