A study of parched lubrication
Wear, 1992Abstract The elastohydrodynamic regime of lubrication is now quite well understood, to the extent that theoretically derived equations for lubricant film thickness are used routinely in engineering design. The boundary lubrication regime, which occurs at slow rubbing speeds and in which the surfaces are separated only by a chemically formed layer, is

PARCHING THE LAND?: THE CHETTIARS IN BURMA
Australian Economic History Review, 2008In the history of Burma's economy, few groups have been as vilified as the Chettiars. A community of Indian moneylenders, the Chettiars were crucial agents in transforming Burma into the rice bowl of Asia. Following the global depression of the 1930s, Burmese agriculture became severely distressed and wide‐scale loan default saw the transfer of much of

Parched Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication
Journal of Tribology, 1985A parched subregime of elastohydrodynamic lubrication is proposed, lying between starved and mixed. Parched EHL is necessary to describe instrument ball bearing behavior, for example: long term transients in film thickness. A parched bearing has the least driving torque demand and best spin axis definition possible from any lubrication regime.
