An Integrated Decision-Making Framework Based on Many-Objective Brain Storming Optimization for Urban Drainage System Design

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Many cities around the world face the flooding management problems as extreme rainfall events have become more frequent. It’s of great practical significance to design an effective urban drainage system (UDS) to improve the stormwater runoff ...

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Dominance-Based Pareto-Surrogate for Multi-Objective Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Mainstream surrogate approaches for multi-objective problems build one approximation for each objective. Mono-surrogate approaches instead aim at characterizing the Pareto front with a single model. Such an approach has been recently introduced using a mixture of regression Support Vector Machine (SVM) to clamp the current Pareto front to a single ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Sorted-Pareto Dominance and Qualitative Notions of Optimality

open access: yes, 2013
Pareto dominance is often used in decision making to compare decisions that have multiple preference values --- however it can produce an unmanageably large number of Pareto optimal decisions. When preference value scales can be made commensurate, then the Sorted-Pareto relation produces a smaller, more manageable set of decisions that are still Pareto

Cellular Snowballing: Cell Adhesion and Migration Drive the Self‐Assembly of Cell‐Microgel Biohybrid Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

Multiobjective Differential Evolution Algorithm with Multiple Trial Vectors

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
This paper presents a multiobjective differential evolution algorithm with multiple trial vectors. For each individual in the population, three trial individuals are produced by the mutation operator.

Spatially Resolved Multiomics Reveals Metabolic Remodeling and Autophagy Activation in Adamantinomatous Craniopharyngiomas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiomics integration analysis reveals the “cystic fluid–tumor cell” metabolic coupling that mediates active choline/ethanolamine uptake of tumor cells from cystic fluid and PC/PE synthesis pathways reprogramming that mediating autophagy pathway activation within ACP. ABSTRACT Adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP), a benign yet highly recurrent and

A Bottom‐Up Design Framework for Multifunctional Lattice Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a generative AI framework for designing multifunctional lattice metamaterials. The method combines 3D Gaussian voxel generation with deep learning, enabling greater design freedom and structural performance. The optimized lattice metamaterials achieve enhanced energy absorption by 40–200% compared to conventional structures and ...
