Bayesian Optimization Guiding the Experimental Mapping of the Pareto Front of Mechanical and Flame‐Retardant Properties in Polyamide Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, Volume 2, Issue 3, June 2026.
Bayesian optimization enabled the design of PA56 system with just 8 wt% additives, achieving limiting oxygen index 30.5%, tensile strength 80.9 MPa, and UL‐94 V‐0 rating. Without prior knowledge, the algorithm uncovered synergistic effects between aluminum diethyl‐phosphinate and nanoclay.

Physics‐Informed Neural Networks for Predictive Modeling and Optimization of pH‐Triggered Drug Release from Quercetin‐Loaded Nanocomposites

open access: yesChemNanoMat, Volume 12, Issue 6, June 2026.
A physics‐informed neural network enables accurate and mechanistically consistent prediction of quercetin release from nanocomposites. Precise control of drug‐release kinetics remains a major challenge in nanomedicine, particularly for pH‐responsive delivery systems targeting the acidic tumor microenvironment. Here, we develop a physics‐informed neural

Predicting the Yield Strength Ratio of Spring Steels via Machine Learning With Experimental Validation

open access: yescScience, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Spring steels are widely used in automotive and railway systems, in which service reliability is strongly affected by the yield strength ratio (YSR). However, accurate YSR prediction remains challenging because of the nonlinear coupling between alloy composition and heat‐treatment parameters, particularly when limited data are available.

Exploring Uncharted Waters: The Role of Artificial Aquatic Ecosystems in Freshwater Science

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
The world's farms and cities house an abundance of human‐made waters, including farm dams, stormwater ponds, constructed wetlands, and ditches: known collectively as “artificial aquatic ecosystems.” In this viewpoint we challenge the entrenched idea that human‐made waters have limited ecological value, discuss the disconnect between the functioning of ...
