Lower Plasma Antioxidant Defense and Heat Shock Proteins Mark Intra‐Amniotic Sludge Ultrasound Finding

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives Intra‐amniotic sludge is an independent risk factor for preterm birth. It consists of a biophysical sonographic finding in the amniotic fluid, formed by dense echogenic particles near the cervical internal orifice, due to sterile or infectious inflammatory processes.

Engineering Topological Phases with a Traveling‐Wave Spacetime Modulation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Time‐varying systems have garnered considerable attention due to their unique potential in manipulating electromagnetic waves. Here, a novel class of topological spacetime crystals with a traveling‐wave modulation is introduced. By manipulating material anisotropy, one can engineer light angular momentum and non‐trivial topological phases characterized

A Linear‐to‐Linear Cross‐Polarization Conversion q‐BIC Metasurface for Transmission Mode Mid‐Infrared Spectral Filtering

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Manipulating the ultranarrow linewidth spectral features of quasi bound states in the continuum is challenging. A metasurface supporting linear‐to‐linear cross‐polarization coupling efficiency surpassing 25% is proposed to address the issue. Less than 100 nm linewidth is achieved, enabling the device to be applied to wavelength‐selective polarization ...

Long‐Range Exciton Energy Transfer in Two‐Dimensional Materials

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in long‐range exciton energy transfer within planar 2D‐material architectures. It emphasizes the emergence of self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons, exciton coupling to surface plasmon polaritons and plasmonic lattices, and the role of dipoledipole transfer pathways in enabling efficient nanoscale energy transport ...
