Up‐Regulation of Natural Killer Cell Cytotoxicity by Interleukin‐2: The Effect of Sex and Parity
American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, 1999PROBLEM: Peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) from some, but not all, female donors showed increased cytotoxicity in response to interleukin (IL)‐2.METHOD OF STUDY: The effect of IL‐2 on natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity was compared in nulliparous females, parous females, and males.

Inheritance of somatic cell count and its genetic relationship with milk yield in different parities
Livestock Production Science, 1988Abstract During the introduction of a cell count program, monthly somatic cell counts were collected between March 1985 and June 1986 for 3376 Friesian cows in 86 herds in The Netherlands. There were 977 cows in first parity, representing 42 sires; 718 cows in second parity, representing 28 sires; 1555 cows in third or greater parities, representing ...

Twenty-four Comisana ewes, with no history of mastitis, were included in this study, with eight ewes each in parities 1, 2 and 3. Groups were separately penned on straw litter and ewes were individually checked for yield, composition, renneting properties and bacteriological characteristics of milk from January, when separated from their lambs (50+/-3 ...

Regulation Of Mammary Stem/Progenitor Cells By P53 And Parity
2011Breast cancer is the most common tumor among women with inherited mutations in the p53 gene (Li-Fraumeni syndrome). The tumors represent the basal-like subtype which has been suggested to originate from mammary stem/progenitor cells. In mouse mammary epithelium, mammosphere-forming potential was increased with decreased dosage of the gene encoding the ...

We describe kinetic electromagnetic particle-in-cell simulation of a field reversed configuration with rotating magnetic fields (RMF). The energy-conserving algorithm calculates RMF penetration, gas breakdown and field reversal for the odd-parity RMF, PFRC device.

Neuregulin Driven Cell Differentiation, Transformation, and Parity of Luminal Breast Cancer
2013Abstract : Studies have shown that ErbB3 and ErbB4 (the neuregulin receptors) are required for growth and survival of the two major luminal mammary epithelial cell types, the ductal luminal mammary epithelium, and the milk-producing alveolar mammary epithelium.

Effect of parity on recovery of inapparent nodule-transformed mammary gland cells in vivo.
Cancer research, 1978Inapparent nodule-transformed cells were recovered from five late-pregnant, first-pregnancy BALB/cfC3H females 4 months of age and from five late-pregnant multiparous females 6 to 7 months of age. Mammary tissues were removed from each donor and dissociated by means of the enzyme collagenase (0.1%), hyaluronidase (0.1%), and pronase (1.25%).

So far all studies on the murine ageing process have been conducted on virgin mice. Immune ageing may be influenced by sex hormone differences related to sex or pregnancies. The aim of this study was to investigate whether pregnancies and gender influence the cell changes observed during ageing in a peripheral lymphoid compartment of C57B1/6 mice ...
