Morphobiometric characterization of dry fruits, seeds, seedlings, and young plants from a Cerrado fragment in the Caatinga Domain, Brazilian semiarid [PDF]
Knowledge about the morphology of diaspores and early growth enables a better understanding of the dynamics of plant communities. The objectives of this study were to characterize the morphobiometrics of fruits and seeds, analyze germination and initial ...

Antiradical effect and phytochemical characterisation of the leaves of Parkia platycephala Benth
The objective of this study was to isolate and identify compounds present in the leaves of Parkia platycephala Benth (Leguminosae-Mimosoideae) and evaluate the antiradical potential of the derived extracts and fractions. Seven compounds were successfully isolated from the ethanolic leaf extract, comprising gallic acid, flavonoids, triterpenoids, and ...

We evaluated the influence of Parkia platycephala on plant assemblages under its crown and surrounding areas in a disturbed Brazilian Savanna, as well as the effects of aqueous extracts of its leaves on the germination and development of three species, under the hypothesis that P. platycephala might work as a nurse species. Eleven areas of direct (ADIs)

Psysiological maturing and dormancy in seeds of Parkia platycephala Benth. (Fabaceae)
The germination capacity of freshly harvested legume seeds is controlled by two antagonistic processes, the maturation process and the establishment of tegument dormancy. Current analysis, foregrounded on the change of color of the fruits, determines, throughout the maturation process of Parkia platycephala seeds, when: i) the seeds reach the ...

Antinociceptive potential of Parkia platycephala Benth. in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats
This study aimed to investigate the possible antinociceptive action of the ethanolic extract (E.EtOH) and ethyl acetate fraction (F.AcOEt) from leaves of Parkia platycephala in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. In chronic experiment, STZ-rats were daily treated with E.EtOH (150 or 300 mg/kg, p.o) for three weeks.
