Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Cardiac Amyloidosis: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
This systematic review and meta‐analysis of 13 observational studies found that catheter ablation was associated with lower odds of all‐cause mortality compared with medical management in cardiac amyloidosis and atrial fibrillation. Freedom from atrial arrhythmia after ablation was approximately 50%, with no significant associations for heart failure ...

Safety and Efficacy of Two Venous Closure Devices Compared With Manual Compression After Atrial Fibrillation Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
In a cohort of 858 patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation, the use of the VASCADE device was associated with a significant reduction in both post‐procedural and bed‐rest durations compared to the Perclose device and manual compression. Although re‐bleeding rates were similar among the groups, no major vascular complications occurred with the ...

Association of QRS Notch Resolution During LV‐Only Fusion Pacing With Early Left Ventricular Reverse Remodeling After Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
QRS notch/slur resolution during LV‐only fusion pacing, combined with an LV‐only pacing percentage ≥ 50% at 1 month, was independently associated with early left ventricular reverse remodeling and may help guide post‐implant CRT optimization. ABSTRACT Background Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) improves outcomes in patients with heart failure ...

Chronic but not Transient Anemia Is Associated With Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence After Catheter Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
In this nationwide cohort of 15 017 patients undergoing first‐time catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, chronic—but not transient—anemia was independently associated with an increased risk of AF recurrence. Persistent anemia may represent a clinically relevant marker of adverse rhythm outcomes following ablation.

Clinical Outcomes of Pulsed Field Vs. Thermal Ablation for Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation: Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Evidence

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
Across four randomized trials including 1 393 patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, pulsed field ablation showed no statistically clear difference in 12‐month treatment success vs. thermal ablation. Safety estimates remained imprecise. Procedure and left atrial dwell times were shorter, whereas fluoroscopy time was longer, with substantial ...

Contemporary Management of Aortic Stenosis: Timing of Intervention and Lifetime Valve Management

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 8, August 2026.
As transcatheter treatment expands to younger and lower‐risk patients, aortic stenosis management is evolving from a single procedure to lifelong valve care. This review highlights the key challenges across the patient journey, from timely diagnosis and optimal intervention to durable valve performance, long‐term surveillance, and repeat intervention ...

Early Hemolysis, Myolysis and Renal Stress Following Pentaspline Pulsed Field Versus Radiofrequency Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 8, August 2026.
Serial biomarker assessment in 40 patients undergoing first‐time pulmonary vein isolation showed greater hemolysis and myocardial myolysis after FARAPULSE pentaspline single‐shot pulsed field ablation than after radiofrequency ablation. Myoglobin changes were associated with transient changes in renal function, albeit these exploratory correlations do ...
