Temporal Characteristics and Management of Prolonged Sinus Pause Following Atrial Fibrillation Termination After Catheter Ablation—A Preliminary Study

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 2, March 2026.
Twelve of the 1330 patients who underwent AF catheter ablation showed PSP ≥ 3 s after AF termination post ablation. The temporal characteristics of PSP were described. Nine of the 12 patients had no need for permanent pacing. We concluded that a ‘watch‐and‐wait’ strategy could be adopted in these patients.

Phase II study of the triple combination of rabbit ATG, ciclosporin and eltrombopag in patients with transfusion‐dependent aplastic anaemia: West Japan Hematology Study Group (W‐JHS) AA02 trial

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 208, Issue 3, Page 1084-1092, March 2026.
Summary The efficacy of a triple combination of rabbit anti‐human thymocyte immunoglobulin (rATG), ciclosporin and eltrombopag (EPAG) was prospectively evaluated in patients with severe or transfusion‐dependent non‐severe aplastic anaemia (SAA) across 29 institutions in Japan. Sixty patients were enrolled, of whom 48 had SAA. The primary end‐point, the

QT Myopia and Cardiac Safety: Expanding the Aperture of Arrhythmia Assessment in Early Phase Drug Development

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Regulatory agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), Health Canada, and the Japanese Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency (PMDA) provide scientific and public health guidance with cardiac safety being paramount in drug development of new investigational products (IP).

Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation: treatment choice

open access: yesКардиоваскулярная терапия и профилактика, 2007
Characteristics and classification of various paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) forms are presented. Main indications for sinus rhythm restoration are listed, together with characteristics of principal medications used for AF management. Antiarrhythmic choice issue is discussed, with emphasis on individual approaches in choosing treat ment tactics.
