Respuesta a Escalante (2011) "De cómo el análisis de parsimonia de endemismos (PAE) tampoco explica la selección natural" A reply to Escalante (2011) "About how Parsimony Analysis of Endemicity does not explain natural selection either"

From research to conservation: Site selection for habitat restoration of a narrowly distributed and critically endangered butterfly

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study focuses on the conservation of a rare butterfly in northwestern Italy threatened by woody encroachment. Using field data, topography, and remote sensing, we modelled habitat suitability and connectivity. A 0.6‐ha site was selected for restoration, illustrating how predictive models can guide targeted conservation actions.

Highlands, Islands and the Evolutionary Impact of Founder Event Dispersal in Sinomicrurus Coralsnakes

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 53, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Island archipelagos and montane regions of East and Southeast Asia represent some of the world's most biodiverse yet poorly understood biogeographic systems. Whether regional diversity accumulates primarily through in situ speciation, dispersal‐mediated range shifts, or some combination of these processes remains unclear.

Phylogeography of the Oriental Plane Tree Uncovers Ancient Colonization Routes Across the Mediterranean Basin

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 53, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The oriental plane tree is a Tertiary relict species with a fragmented range across southeastern Europe and southwestern Asia, forming a key component of riparian forest vegetation. Despite its ecological and cultural importance, the evolutionary history of this tree species has remained unclear, particularly regarding the relative ...

Relationship Value, Emotion, and Uncertainty Shape Conflict−Resolution Communication in a Wild Primate

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1562, Issue 1, August 2026.
Geladas combine vocal−visual signals and tactile patterns to resolve conflicts. Reconciliation is rapid, mainly aggressor‐initiated, and shaped by relationship value, risk, emotion, and audience context. Post‐conflict sequences increase in complexity with stronger bonds, greater distress, dominance asymmetries, and genetic unrelatedness. These patterns
