EETTlib—Energy‐efficient train timetabling library

open access: yesNetworks, Volume 81, Issue 1, Page 51-74, January 2023., 2023
Abstract We introduce EETTlib, an instance library for the Energy‐Efficient Train Timetabling problem. The task in this problem is to adjust a given timetable draft such that the energy consumption of the resulting railway traffic is minimized. To this end, the departure times of the trains can be slightly, and their velocity profiles on each trip can ...

Precision-biased Parsing and High-Quality Parse Selection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We introduce precision-biased parsing: a parsing task which favors precision over recall by allowing the parser to abstain from decisions deemed uncertain. We focus on dependency-parsing and present an ensemble method which is capable of assigning parents to 84% of the text tokens while being over 96% accurate on these tokens.

Fast Rhetorical Structure Theory Discourse Parsing

open access: yes, 2015
In recent years, There has been a variety of research on discourse parsing, particularly RST discourse parsing. Most of the recent work on RST parsing has focused on implementing new types of features or learning algorithms in order to improve accuracy ...

Pareto in Prison

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences &the Law, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Pareto principle is based on the concept that roughly 80% of outcomes are generated by 20% of inputs, efforts, or contributors within a group. Using a national sample of U.S. prison inmates, we examined various percentile rankings of self‐reported institutional misconduct to determine how much disorder is created behind bars by the most ...

Semi-Supervised Methods for Out-of-Domain Dependency Parsing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Dependency parsing is one of the important natural language processing tasks that assigns syntactic trees to texts. Due to the wider availability of dependency corpora and improved parsing and machine learning techniques, parsing accuracies of supervised learning-based systems have been significantly improved.

Engineering Substrate Acceptance of Resveratrol O‐Methyltransferase from Vitis vinifera for the Selective Synthesis of O‐Methyl Protected Biobased Hydroxystyrenes

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Reaction sequence for the synthesis of methylated products through enzymatic decarboxylation of bio‐based hydroxycinnamic acids and subsequent direct methylation of the resulting styrene intermediates without any further isolation and purification steps.

Progressive refinement: a method of coarse-to-fine image parsing using stacked network [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
To parse images into fine-grained semantic parts, the complex fine-grained elements will put it in trouble when using off-the-shelf semantic segmentation networks. In this paper, for image parsing task, we propose to parse images from coarse to fine with progressively refined semantic classes.

A Direct Measurement of the Absolute Energies of Protonated Gly‐Pro‐Gly‐Gly Conformations Using Ion Mobility Spectrometry and Guided Ion Beam Tandem Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Relative energies of the cis and trans conformers of the protonated tetrapeptide, Gly‐Pro‐Gly‐Gly, selected by ion mobility spectrometry are measured using threshold collision‐induced dissociation. The trans conformation was found to be more stable than the cis conformation by 4.5 ± 2.5 kJ mol−1 at 0 K, a value in agreement with several levels of ...
