Partial characterization of Yersinia intermedia bacteriocin

Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1983
Yersinia intermedia produces a temperature-dependent (25 degrees C) bactericidal substance that is active against other Yersinia species. Crude preparations of the inhibitory substance were inactivated by chymotrypsin, trypsin, pronase, and heating but were not affected by lipolytic enzymes, chloroform, or other organic solvents.

Isolation and partial characterization of ovine lactoferrin

Experientia, 1979
Ovine lactoferrin was isolated by ammonium sulfate precipitation and ion exchange chromatography. Comparative analyses were performed with the bovine protein. Differences in the amino acid compositions and the tertiary structure of the proteins were observed.

Partial characterization of an erythropoiesis inhibitory factor

Biochemical Medicine, 1985
An inhibitory factor of erythropoiesis, obtained from normal human urine, is indicated to be a complex of a fragment of alpha 1-acid glycoprotein and prostaglandin F2 alpha. Immunoelectrophoresis reveals two protein components in the EIF complex which separate during acrylamide gel electrophoresis.

Partial Characterization of Mouse Placental Lactogen*

Endocrinology, 1982
Serum, placental, extracts, and placental incubation medium from 12- and 17-day-pregnant mice were fractionated by gel exclusion chromatography on Sephadex G-100. The eluates were monitored for activity by a radioreceptor assay (RRA) for lactogenic hormones that detects placental lactogen (PL) and PRL.

Partial Antigenic Characterization of Buffalopox Virus

Veterinary Research Communications, 2004
The present study was undertaken to antigenically characterize the buffalopox virus (BPV). Six monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against the BP4 strain of BPV have been produced and characterized. All six MAbs appeared to be specific to BPV, as none of them showed cross-reactivity with other poxviruses in antigen capture ELISA.

Characterizations of the stable semantics by partial evaluation

1995
There are three most prominent semantics defined for certain subclasses of disjunctive logic programs: GCWA (for positive programs), PERFECT (for stratified programs) and STABLE (defined for the whole class of all disjunctive programs). While there are various competitors based on 3-valued models, notably WFS and its disjunctive counterparts, there are

Partial characterization of the proteome of the mouse striatum

PROTEOMICS, 2007
AbstractMany diseases of the mammalian CNS, including Parkinson's (PD) and Lesch Nyhan disease (LND), are associated with programmatic neurodegeneration or dysfunction of dopaminergic neurons in the mesencephalon, the nigrostriatal pathway, and its projections in the striatum [1–4].

Partial Purification and Characterization of Urinary Procoagulant

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1971
SummaryPartial purification of the human urinary procoagulant was achieved and some of its properties characterized. Purification was accomplished by adsorption of urine with BaSO4, citrate elution, isoelectric precipitation followed by (NH4)2SO4 precipitation and chromatography on hydroxylapatite and Sephadex G-200.

Partial characterization of mucoran: the glucuronomannan component

Carbohydrate Research, 1972
Abstract Mucoran, an acidic heteropolysaccharide isolated from the cell walls of the fungus Mucor rouxii, was purified by DEAE-Sephadex chromatography. It consists mainly of D -glucuronic acid, D -mannose, and L -fucose in a 5:3:2 ratio plus small proportions of galactose and glucose. Mucoran was subjected to methylation by the Hakomori procedure.
