DNA analysis of partial hydatidiform mole revealing triandric monogynic tetraploidy.
Ceska gynekologie, 2023The authors present a case of a partial hydatidiform mole where DNA analysis (STR - short tandem repeat genotyping) showed a triandric monogynic tetraploid genome composition with a XXXY gonosomal complement.

Singleton normal fetus with partial hydatidiform mole (PHM) pregnancy is a rare phenomenon. No previous reports have investigated the risk factors of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) progression following this condition.

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1987
The current study was undertaken in an effort to identify the clinical characteristics and natural history of partial moles. Three cases recently managed at Tripler Army Medical Center and 52 cases collected from the medical literature were reviewed. The mean age of the women at diagnosis was 25.6 years.

Choriocarcinoma and partial hydatidiform moles
The Lancet, 2000Partial hydatidiform moles (PMs) rarely require chemotherapy and have never previously been proven to transform into choriocarcinoma, the most malignant form of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD). Consequently, some have questioned whether women with PMs need human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) follow-up.

Hydatidiform moles are nonneoplastic proliferations of the villous trophoblasts, with two distinct subtypes: complete and partial hydatidiform moles (PHMs). While they share some basic features, that is, hydropic placenta/chorionic villi and trophoblastic hyperplasia, partial and complete moles have significant differences in their genetic composition,

Diagnosis of first-trimester partial mole is challenging as the key morphologic features may not be well-developed and may overlap with those of a nonmolar gestation harboring a cytogenetic disorder or degenerative changes.

Partial hydatidiform mole in septate uterus
Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 2009AbstractPartial mole is a form of gestational trophoblastic disease that may be associated with serious medical complications and occasionally progresses to the second trimester of pregnancy. We present a case report of a partial mole diagnosed at 18 weeks of gestation in a septate uterus with molar placenta in one horn and a dead fetus in the other. ©

Partial Hydatidiform Mole: Ultrasonographic Features
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 1983Summary:Four patients with partial hyatidiform mole managed at the Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, are described. The diagnosis of blighted ovum or missed abortion was made on the sonographic findings prior to suction evacuation. The dominant features in these cases consisted of a relatively large central transonic area bearing the appearance of an ...
