Identification of nontuberculous mycobacteria by partial gene sequencing and public databases
Background: Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are a heterogeneous group of microorganisms with distinct clinical relevance. The treatment of NTM infections depends significantly upon the crucial identification of species at this level.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Using financial markets information to identify oil supply shocks in a restricted VAR [PDF]
This paper introduces a methodology for identifying oil supply shocks in a restricted VAR system for a small open economy. Financial market information is used to construct an identification scheme that forces the response of the restricted VAR model to ...

Partial Identification of Nonseparable Models Using Binary Instruments [PDF]
In this study, we explore the partial identification of nonseparable models with continuous endogenous and binary instrumental variables. We show that the structural function is partially identified when it is monotone or concave in the explanatory variable.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

This paper studies the identification of partial differences of nonseparable structural functions. The paper considers triangular structures with no more stochastic unobservables than observable outcomes, that exhibit a degree of monotonicity with ...

Chromatographic separation and identification of some peptides in partial hydroylsates of gelatin [PDF]
Recently we have been engaged in a study of the chemical structure of collagen and gelatin with the object of determining the sequence of the amino acid residues in the polypeptide chains of these proteins.
