Partial least square regression applied to the QTLMAS 2010 dataset

open access: yes, 2010
Detection of genomic regions affecting traits is a goal in many genetic studies. Studies applying distinct methods for detection of these regions, called quantitative trait loci (QTL), have been described, ranging from single marker regression [1] to ...

Partial Least Squares Regression Methods with Application of Mas Cement Factory in Sulaymaniyah Governorate

open access: yesگۆڤارا زانستێن مرۆڤایەتی یا زانكۆیا زاخۆ, 2022
This paper was dealing with variables for MAS Cement Factory where evince many problems , more than one variable dependent and presence the problem of multicollinearity and so presence the correlation between the predictive variables and the dependent ...

A comparative study of principal component regression and partial least squares regression with application to FTIR diabetes data

open access: yes, 2011
In recent years, Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy has had an increasingly important role in the field of pathology and diagnosis of disease states.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

A robust partial least squares method with applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Partial least squares regression (PLS) is a linear regression technique developed to relate many regressors to one or several response variables. Robust methods are introduced to reduce or remove the effect of outlying data points.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Estimating Outliers Using the Iterative Method in Partial Least Squares Regression Analysis for Linear Models. [PDF]

open access: yesالمجلة العراقية للعلوم الاحصائية
Outliers affect the accuracy of the estimated parameters of the partial least squares regression model and give unacceptably large residual values. Traditional robust methods (used in ordinary least squares) cannot be used to treat outliers in estimating

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Stability indicating analysis of bisacodyl by partial least squares regression, spectral residual augmented classical least squares and support vector regression chemometric models: A comparative study

open access: yesBulletin of Faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University, 2011
Partial least squares regression (PLSR), spectral residual augmented classical least squares (SRACLS) and support vector regression (SVR) are three different chemometric models.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
