A comparison of partial least squares (PLS) and sparse PLS regressions in genomic selection in French dairy cattle [PDF]
Genomic selection involves computing a prediction equation from the estimated effects of a large number of DNA markers based on a limited number of genotyped animals with phenotypes. The number of observations is much smaller than the number of independent variables, and the challenge is to find methods that perform well in this context.

This study identifies C4 as a lead inhibitor of the Lpt system. Notably, C4 potentiates colistin activity by disrupting LPS transport and remodeling phospholipid homeostasis, revealing a functional interplay between the Lpt and Mla systems. These findings establish a mechanistic link between Lpt inhibition and membrane lipid remodeling, positioning Lpt–

KF-PLS: Optimizing Kernel Partial Least-Squares (K-PLS) with Kernel Flows
Partial Least-Squares (PLS) Regression is a widely used tool in chemometrics for performing multivariate regression. PLS is a bi-linear method that has a limited capacity of modelling non-linear relations between the predictor variables and the response. Kernel PLS (K-PLS) has been introduced for modelling non-linear predictor-response relations.

An integrated probiotic system is engineered to execute a programmed therapeutic cascade against inflammatory bowel disease. Upon pathological signals, the system sequentially performs ROS scavenging, tungsten release, and selective pathogen suppression, thereby breaking the oxidative stress–dysbiosis cycle to remodel gut microbiota and reinforce ...

A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

Orally administered, pH‐responsive Co‐SAN exerts dual functions: in the alkaline intestinal milieu, it scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and suppresses the PI3K/AKT pathway and NETs formation, thus providing radioprotection; whereas in the acidic tumor microenvironment, it generates ROS and alleviates hypoxia, thereby enhancing radiosensitization.
