Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy Versus Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) is an alternative treatment modality for small-sized renal tumors. Robot-assisted LPN (RLPN) has also been performed with an advantage in repairing the defect after a resection of the tumor. We compared the perioperative data of patients treated with LPN with patients who underwent RLPN.From September 2006 to ...

Development of a Synthetic 3D Platform for Compartmentalized Kidney In Vitro Disease Modeling
A fully synthetic, compartmentalized 3D kidney disease model is introduced. The kidney model combines a PEG‐based hydrogel matrix with anisotropic, enzymatically degradable rod‐shaped microgels to spatially arrange a triple co‐culture of key renal epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblast cells.

Operative and nonoperative management for renal trauma. Comparison of outcomes. A systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]
INTRODUCTION: Preservation of kidney and renal function is the goal of nonoperative management (NOM) of renal trauma (RT). The advantages of NOM for minor blunt RT have already been clearly described, but its value for major blunt and penetrating RT is ...

PBRM1 ranks as the second most commonly mutated gene in ccRCC. This study reveals that PBRM1 loss promotes an immunosuppressive microenvironment by elevating M2 TAMs via the KDM5C–IL‐6 axis. These M2 TAMs, along with CAFs, form a barrier that excludes CD8+ T cells. Targeting IL‐6 synergizes with anti‐PD1 therapy, offering a promising strategy for PBRM1‐

Robot‐assisted partial nephrectomy via retroperitoneal approach in a patient with horseshoe kidney
Introduction Horseshoe kidney is a renal fusion anomaly often associated with ectopia, malformation, and vascular changes. Robot‐assisted partial nephrectomy is selected for patients with T1a renal cell carcinoma; however, there are few reports of renal ...

Laparoscopic and Robotic-Assisted Partial Nephrectomy: An Overview of Hot Issues
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and robot-assisted partial nephrectomy are attracting increased attention from urologists. They can achieve the same effect of oncology control as radical nephrectomy; moreover, they can offer better preservation of renal

Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Blood pressure and indices of glomerular filtration area in hypertensive and normotensive Prague rats [PDF]
The involvement of the kidney in the pathogenesis of hypertension has long been recognised, although the specific renal mechanisms underlying this phenomenon are still unknown.
