Elastic Model for Partially Saturated Granular Materials [PDF]
This paper presents the development of an elastic model for partially saturated granular materials based on micromechanical factor consideration. A granular material is considered as an assembly of particles. The stress-strain relationship for an assembly can be determined by integrating the behavior at all interparticle contacts and by using a static ...

Dynamic Nuclear Polarization by Thermal Mixing Under Partial Saturation [PDF]
We describe a low-temperature thermodynamic model for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) via continuous-wave partial saturation of electron spin resonance (ESR) lines that are both homogeneously and inhomogeneously broadened.

AN EXPERIENCE OF SERELAXINE USE FOR ACUTE HEART FAILURE IN PATIENTS WITH ONCOHEMATOLOGICAL DISEASES
Treatment of acute heart failure (ACF) remains a strenuous task. Modern treatment methods — diuretics, vasodilators, inotropic drugs — are effective in ACF symptoms reduction, but do not decrease risk of death, that is still very high in this urgent ...

Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Partially saturated media: from DEM simulation to thermodynamic interpretation
An extended numerical model of pendular bridge for spherical grains is introduced, enabling the determination of interfacial areas. On this basis, the free energy of interfaces is defined, and its changes are found to balance the mechanical work exerted by the bridge on the particles of a two-grain system, following the first law of thermodynamics. The

Global stabilization of a Korteweg-de Vries equation with saturating distributed control
This article deals with the design of saturated controls in the context of partial differential equations. It focuses on a Korteweg-de Vries equation, which is a nonlinear mathematical model of waves on shallow water surfaces.

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Induced Partial Saturation Using Pseudomonas stutzeri Biogas for Mitigate Structure Settlement
Induced partial saturation (IPS) is a new foundation treatment method for mitigating soil liquefaction using biogas. A series of laboratory tests were performed to demonstrate the influencing factors of IPS using Pseudomonas stutzeri biogas. On the basis

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
