Social Functioning Within the First Years After Pediatric Brain Tumor Diagnosis and the Relationship With Family Psychosocial Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of pediatric brain tumors (PBTs) can experience long‐term social difficulties, impacting quality of life. Beyond medical and environmental factors, family psychosocial risk may play a role in social outcomes by shaping the caregiving environment and may provide intervention options.

Partial sums of normalized Dini functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Classical Analysis, 2016
Summary: Some lower bounds are proposed for the quotients of normalized Dini functions and their partial sum, as well as for the quotients of the derivative of normalized Dini functions and their partial sums. Our study is motivated by some earlier results one similar lower bounds for quotients of convex univalent functions and their partial sum.

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

The distribution of the maximum of partial sums of Kloosterman sums and other trace functions

open access: yes, 2021
In this paper, we investigate the distribution of the maximum of partial sums of families of $m$ -periodic complex-valued functions satisfying certain conditions. We obtain precise uniform estimates for the distribution function of this maximum in a near-

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

On Infinite Horizon Optimal Stopping of General Random Walk [PDF]

open access: yes
The objective of this study is to provide an alternative characterization of the optimal value function of a certain Black- Scholes-type optimal stopping problem where the underlying stochastic process is a general random walk, i.e.

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Evaluation of some reciprocal trigonometric sums via partial fraction decomposition

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2020
Recently, Melham computed some nite sums in which the denominator of the summand includes products of `sine' or `cosine'. In this paper, generalizations of the sums, which he studied in 2016, are presented, by allowing arbitrary factors in the ...
